In the Leads tab, the Status column gives you quick insight into the current state of each lead. These statuses help you manage your lists, avoid deliverability issues, and stay compliant with best practices.
Here’s a breakdown of the statuses you might see:
Unverified
Verified
Unknown
Bounced
Inactive
Unsubscribed
Risky
Some of these were originally used with our now-deprecated built-in lead verification system. We’ve paused that feature for now while we search for a new verification partner.
The two statuses you’ll want to pay the most attention to are:
Bounced
If a lead bounces in any campaign within your workspace, we’ll automatically mark them as Bounced and exclude them from future sends. You also won’t be able to add Bounced leads to new campaigns. This helps you avoid repeatedly sending to emails that could hurt your domain reputation.
Unsubscribed
If a lead clicks your unsubscribe link or you manually unsubscribe them, their status will be updated to Unsubscribed. Once marked, they’ll be excluded from future campaigns by default.
Yes, there are two ways to reuse leads marked as Bounced or Unsubscribed:
Option 1: Bulk Status Update
Go to the Leads tab
Select the leads you want to update
Use the bulk "Update Status" action to change them back to Unverified or Verified
Add them to your campaign
Option 2: When Moving Leads Between Campaigns
Go to your campaign's leads view
Select the leads you want to move
Click "Move to another campaign"
Check the "Force include bounced and unsubscribed leads" option
Select your target campaign and confirm
This second option automatically resets the leads' status and adds them to the new campaign in one step.
